Plant Your Mac with Monsieur Plant
French artist Christophe Guinet aka Monsieur Plant breathes new botanical life into vintage Macintosh computers with his "Plant Your Mac" project. While nature overtaking obsolete technology has often been a visual hallmark of apocalyptic decay, there is a very real sense of cultivation here as all manner of plant life, from succulents to papyrus and even a bonsai tree are sprouted from the ashes of a bygone era in computing.
The medium of plant life is one Christophe is intimately familiar with and is a running theme of his "disconnect and think nature!" philosophy. He has decorated products with plants and also used moss as a typographic tool, all to impressive effect. The juxtaposition here is extra poignant as old pinnacles of technology repurposed as a home for some of the most primitive organisms on the planet. Using Apple as his muse only drives the point further - a computer whose brand is inspired by nature finding itself full circle and back to its roots.
