Toronto artist/photographer Melissa Moffat slices and dices classic comic book heroes and villains in this series of elaborate collages. Despite how deeply she dissects her subjects, it is quite telling how many of them retain their identity through the use of colors and textures. Sure, the occasional logo helps, but really it is the first impression of palettes and moods that identifies these iconic characters. Whether is Daredevil’s trademark red or the vibrant primary colors worn by the Man of Steel, Melissa delivers a compelling abstract perspective on some of our favorite icons of fantasy and pop culture.
