The Vibrant Watercolors of Anna Bucciarelli
Canadian illustrator Anna Bucciarelli demonstrates impressive command of watercolor and ink in her ornate, Patrykivka styled renderings. Opting for strong palettes of saturated primary and secondary hues, the Ontario native brings her stunning, organic compositions to life. Whether she's illustrating the Chinese zodiac, creating portraits for pets or combining flora, fauna and typography, Anna puts an impressive amount of discipline and talent into what she does. Anyone who has tried it will tell you that watercolor is one of those mediums that can be difficult to master. There is no undo button and you must walk a creative tightrope between controlled brushwork and the free-flowing nature of the medium. It takes a special breed of artist to harness that balance and provide a healthy range of colors, textures and motifs that blend seamlessly together. Apparently, she is more than up to the task.
