Wax Stamp made of Brass and Copper

Engraved Brass & Copper Stamps

Unlike aluminum and plated steel, solid brass/copper fixtures won't need to be replaced due to rust or corrosion. Both metals retain their details well and won't warp or distort with high temperatures making them an ideal medium for heat transfer.

Wax Stamp Handles made of Walnut

100% Solid Walnut Handles

Walnut is one of the strongest and most stable hardwoods available. Its dense and tight grain make it highly resistant to decay and a popular choice for flooring, furniture or artisanal carvings. We've shaped the handle into an ergonomic, yet classic shape which is both stylish and comfortable to use.

How Wax Stamps are Made

A custom wax stamp made with brass and a walnut handle is a timeless and elegant addition to any office or personal stationery collection. With its classic design and high-quality materials, a wax stamp can add a touch of sophistication and refinement to any letter or document.

The process of creating a custom wax stamp begins with the design. Whether you choose to create your own design or work with a professional graphic designer, the end result should be a design that reflects your personal style or brand identity in a clear and simple design.

Once the design is finalized, it is etched onto a brass plate using a laser or other engraving method. The brass plate is then attached to a solid walnut handle, which is crafted to fit comfortably in the hand and provide a firm grip for stamping.

The stamp itself is made by melting a wax stick and pouring it onto the desired surface, such as an envelope or document. The brass stamp is then pressed into the wax, leaving behind an elegant and distinctive impression.

Add Prestige & Privacy to Any Stationery

A custom wax stamp is not only a practical tool for sealing letters and documents, but it is also a work of art that can be treasured for years to come. With its high-quality materials and classic design, a custom wax stamp is a unique and meaningful gift for weddings, anniversaries, or other special occasions.

In addition to its aesthetic appeal, a custom wax stamp also has a practical purpose. By using wax seals on letters and documents, you can ensure that they remain private and secure. The unique impression left by the wax seal is difficult to replicate, making it an effective way to prevent tampering or unauthorized access to sensitive information.

Wax stamps are sophisticated and timeless addition to any personal or professional stationery collection. With its classic design, high-quality materials, and practical purpose, a wax stamp is a unique and meaningful investment that will be treasured for years to come.

How Much Detail Fits on a Wax Stamp?

While a great amount of detail can be engraved in brass, there are limits which are determined by the size of your stamp and graphic. For smaller seals, we highly recommend choosing a more solid and iconic design. For more intricate designs, you will definitely want to go with a larger stamp.

A Case Study

It's worth noting that even the largest stamps will not reproduce every detail. If your original graphic has lots of fine line work, cross-hatching or grey tones, then it will need to be simplified according to the size you choose.

The smaller the stamp, the more details must be omitted. A 1.5” stamp can get a fair amount of detail, reproducing most family crests and fine scripts. But a for 0.75” stamp the illustration must be boiled down to something more iconic.

alert

NOTE: As a general rule of thumb, the thinnest line that can be produced with laser engraving on a wax stamp is 0.5 points in thickness. The same rule applies for the width of any object, which should also not exceed 0.5 points.

1 ½ " Wax Seal Design

Even at the largest size, many details must be omitted to ensure a clean impression. This includes fine linework and cross-hatching, which are common in detailed illustrations.

1 ¼ " Wax Seal Design

Going down a size requires less detail. The windows are simplified and the leaves are draw in a more flat style without detailed rendering of the previous version.

1 " Wax Seal Design

At this size a great deal of detail is simplified, both within the castle and the surrounding wreath. The front gate and windows bars are still visible but reduced in number.

¾ " Wax Seal Design

Three quarters of an inch is not a lot of space, so only the most simplified and iconic designs will work. The castle gates are completely removed as well as the upper windows.
